Growing up in Spokane, my father was an owner of a small business, a home builder. I understand the pressures on the business and families.

With many companies outsourcing and going overseas, I want to focus on a climate for small business to ensure they can thrive. Small businesses, together, are the largest employers and are major contributors to a vibrant, healthy economy.

I want to create sustainable family wage jobs by supporting profitable businesses that choose to locate and stay in the 2nd District and Washington.

• Work to streamline and make the licensing and permit process fair and efficient
  
• Refundable tax credits to small businesses which expand or offer health care
  
• Tax incentives to businesses that move to Washington and create family wage jobs
  
• Work to reduce the business and occupation (B&0) tax and make L&I deductions fair to small business
