Veterans

I believe its an absolute shame that members of our armed forces should have to be on welfare, or have to use WIC to feed their babies and keep them healthy.

My son currently serves in the US Air Force Reserves, serving in the “War on Terror.” I know others who are making sacrifices for our country.

As the state has done for other veterans of past wars, it is now time to begin working for those veterans who are now returning, that they have access to job training and college benefits.

A number of our returning veterans are finding their company gone, their job disappeared, or changed in the time they have been serving, it is the least we could to do offer tuition assistance to these veterans at our state schools.

• Subsidized tuition for veterans at state colleges and universities
  
• Ensure the funding of WIC and other related programs
